A Regimental Mameluke-Hilted Levee Sabre Of The 3rd Or King's Own Light Dragoons
Circa 1825

With curved bright blade double-edged at the clipped-back point and etched over half its length on one side with foliage, an elaborate trophy of arms and a wreath of laurel, and on the other with crossed banners, 'GR' cypher, battle honours for 'Salamanca' and 'Peninsular', and crowned regimental badge and title, steel-mounted hilt including guard with brass floret on each side and button quillon terminals, ivory grips (repaired), and pommel pierced for a sword-knot, in its brass-mounted steel scabbard with two rings for suspension (hilt and scabbard with some light pitting)
