An 1831 Pattern General Officer's Mameluke-Hilted Sabre
By Andrews, No. 9 Pall Mall, London, Circa 1835

With slightly curved bright blade double-edged at the clipped-back point, the forte etched on both sides with crowned 'WRIV' cypher, crossed sword and baton between wreaths of laurel and oak, a panel of foliage beneath on one side, and the maker's details on the other, regulation hilt with gilt mounts including guard cast and chased on both sides with foliage against a punched ground and centred on a crossed sword and baton within a wreath, ivory grips (one chipped), and pommel pierced for a sword-knot, in its brass scabbard (some denting) with two rings for suspension
