An 1892 MKI Pattern Household Cavalry Trooper's Sword
No. 9211, Late 19th/Early 20th Century

With slightly curved fullered blade stamped with ordnance marks on both sides at the forte, regulation steel hilt pierced with scrolls involving the initials 'HC', a crown above, and wire-bound fishskin-covered grip, in its leather-covered wooden scabbard with frog-stud

The style of scabbard indicates foreign service use, probably during the Boer War
