A Turkish 22-Bore Silver-Mounted Flintlock Holster Pistol
Early 19th Century

With finely twist damascus two-stage barrel with gold lines at the muzzle and breech, the sighting flat encrusted with gold arabesques, octagonal breech encrusted with a panel of engraved gold foliage and with three panels of gold-encrusted Turkish inscriptions beyond, tang decorated en suite, flat bevelled lock, cock and steel all encrusted with engraved gold foliage, roller, carved full stock inlaid with silver wire decoration and pellets on the butt, filigree mounts comprising shaped side-plate, escutcheon, spurred pommel with domed cap, trigger-guard and ramrod-pipes, and false ramrod inlaid with silver wire; together with a Persian all-steel jambiya, late 19th century, with curved blade dividing into two towards the point and with waved edges, damascened in silver on both sides with serpents and a panel of foliage, and waisted silver-damascened hilt, in its scabbard en suite (2)
