A Turkish 25-Bore Miquelet-Lock Short Rifle
Late 18th Century

With finely twist damascus octagonal sighted barrel rifled with seven grooves, encrusted with silver foliage between beaded silver lines at the muzzle and breech, and retained by four silver barrel bands each engraved with foliage, arched two aperture back-sight decorated en suite, plain tang, characteristic lock encrusted with silver foliage (some losses), figured full stock inlaid overall with small roundels of brass and dark horn, flared faceted butt profusely inlaid en suite and enriched with bone lines, some stained green, and shaped brass panels, button trigger (loose), bone fore-end cap, and iron ramrod
