Three Indian Dhals
19th Century And Later

Each of steel and of convex circular form, the first with applied rim and four domed bosses, the outer surface decorated in gold koftgari with symmetrical designs of foliage against a ground of scrollwork, the bosses framed by an applied gold-damascened serpentine riband, and bordered by applied gilt-brass vines (minor repairs), the interior with padded blue silk lining (damaged) and padded red velvet bracer; the second of similar form but without the serpentine riband and borders of vines, the interior with red velvet lining and padded bracer; the last with four later domed bosses, the outer surface crudely etched with Persian male and female figures in landscapes, two of the former on horseback, the outer borders etched with Persian cursive script and foliage (3)
