With curved single-edged blade cut with two fullers along the back over most of its length on each side, the cutting edge at the forte on both sides retaining some silver-damascened calligraphy, hilt comprising steel quillon-block with pointed langets (one missing) and tapering quillons with swelling terminals, steel grip-strap, and rounded rhinoceros horn grips, the pommel pierced for a sword-knot (brass mount missing from one side), in original leather-covered scabbard (leather damaged and incomplete) with border engraved brass mounts (some denting), the locket chased on both sides with a panel of Arabic calligraphy centred on a bird, and with two rings for suspension
