A Rare American Colonial Cowhorn Powder-Horn Probably Relating To The French And Indian Wars
Circa 1760

Incised with scrimshaw work retaining traces of red pigment and depicting the Hanovarian royal arms, a sun-in-splendour and vacant banner above, a martial trophy between field guns and banners below, and elsewhere with a figure firing at a running stag, his dog at his feet, and a man-in-the-moon in a starry sky, tapering nozzle of octagonal section, and drawn-out at the base (some damage, base-plug missing) to form a lip pierced with three holes for suspension
