A Medieval Sword
Second Half Of The 14th Century

In excavated condition, with sharply tapering double-edged blade of flat diamond section with shallow central fuller on both sides of the forte, latten-filled mark beyond the fuller on one side (latten incomplete), hilt comprising flat slightly arched quillons widening at the ends, flat tapering tang deeply stamped with three cross potent marks along one side, and compressed octagonal wheel pommel with circular recess on each side bearing a mark (?)
