An Italian Knightly Sword
Late 14th/Early 15th Century

With broad brightly polished tapering double-edged blade of slightly hollowed flattened diamond section struck with bladesmith's mark on each side, the forte on one side inlaid in latten with a gothic 'R', hilt comprising arched tapering quillons swelling over the forte on both sides and with scrolled tips, bottle-shaped wooden grip (some worming), and large circular pommel with shallow medial ridge on both sides and tapering up to an integral tang button (some pitting overall)
