With this depiction of the 2 - 10 - 0 steam locomotive
Terence Cuneo has captured the very essence of long - freight trains trundling across Europe.
Here speed has been arrested and the leisurely portrayal of the exhaust and the way in which the steam from the draincocks and cylinders swirls gently out, reinforces the feeling that this giant, at least, is in no hurry to depart the scene (Narisa Chakra, Terence Cuneo: Railway Painter of the Century )
