David Bowie: An early appearance contract for 'David Bowie & Hutch' with related letter signed by David Bowie,

dated March 1969,
the contract for 'David Bowie & Hutch' to appear at 'Ealing Tech, St. Mary's Rd, W.5.', on Tuesday, 29th April 1969, for a fee of £17, the typed letter date April 8th 1969, signed by Bowie sent from address 'DAVID BOWIE, 4 Plaistow Grove, Bromley, Kent', stating 'Dear Ian, re: David Bowie And Hutch, This is to confirm that we, as the Artistes, David Bowie & Hutch, have been booked by you, Gas Entertainment, to appear at the Ealing College of Technology....., on April 29th, to perform for a period of one hour, between the hours of 12:30 and 13:30. The arrival time will be 11:30 A.M. It is agreed that we shall be paid, by cheque, the sum of Twelve (12) pounds, WITHIN seven days of said agreement. David Bowie' together with two further documents relating to the appearances signed by the booker 'Gary Shombert' and promoter 'Gavin Scott' (4)

'Hutch' refers to John Hutchinson, who worked with Bowie as a guitarist during this late 1960s period, particularly as a member of 'Feathers'.

It was Hutchinson who played guitar on the initial version of 'Space Oddity' in February 1969.
