Pink Floyd: A collection of animation drawings and related material for the film 'The Wall' and live concerts,

comprising: photographs of the artist's studio showing construction of the storyboard for animated hammer walk-cycle; two large sketches in blue pencil of barbed wire, used by artists painting animation cels for background in a scene from 'The Wall' plus test film strip; twenty-five drawings of small hammer walk-cycles; four drawings and copy of forward-walking cycles of hammers; eleven drawings, initial working sketches of animation sequence of hammer walk-cycle; a two-piece preliminary rough sketch of hammers' walk-cycle; seven initial working sketches of animated creature from 'The Wall'; an original cardboard bird model and five sketches used to aid animation for 'The Wall', these being preliminary drawings from which the bird sequence was created; several reels of test film strips; an original storyboard rough for marching hammers animation with two original hammer drawings; a set of eight b/w photographs used for perspective movement for animated hammers; a hammer in display box, with black handle and brick-red shaft, 12½ inches (32cm) long; an unfinished acetate (with drawing) for animation used in concert, 'Animals' tour 1977, being a detailed surface of globe plus test film strips of maze on globe's surface; unfinished prototype acetate for 'Animals' tour, the globe depicted in the sky, plus prototype cels of monolith; tour programme for each of 'Animals' and 'The Wall', with one ticket for Wembley, 17th March 1977 and four for Earls Court, 17th June 1981; and a collection of carbon copies of invoices from the vendor for work done for Pink Floyd, all in folio

The vendor of this lot was employed as an animator by Pink Floyd/Gerald Scarfe in the late 70s/early 80s and worked on animations for the band's live shows and the film of 'The Wall'. He purchased the hammer from his local DIY shop and used it as the model for the drawings/animations featuring this symbol.
