A fine second quarter of the 17th century and later ebony and gilt brass table clock
Surmounted by the figure of a soldier over the strap work dome, flanked by four turned finials, raised on fluted pillars and splayed moulded base with gilt brass foliate feet. The 1.5 inch silvered Arabic dial with single brass hand and alarm setting disc with a conforming countwheel dial to the reverse.The steel posted frame movement with engraved going and strike barrels, verge escapement and alarm train with stopping mechanism beneath the dome. The underside bearing a label inscribed 'Christies 26/5/38', the printed lot number and description noting the provenance 'From the Oppenheimer and Seymour Lucas Collections' 31cm high
