Nathaniel Chamberlain. A very fine and rare late 17th century tortoiseshell and inlaid silver pair case single hand pocket watch
Circa 1690
Fusee verge movement with pierced and engraved winged balance cock, silver regulation, tulip pillars, silver embossed dial with Roman hourly numerals and 144 divisions, each for 5 minutes indication, beautiful and very finely engraved blued steel single hand with engraved end and winding stem, polished silver inner case, tortoiseshell outer with very finely inlaid silver to depict a church scene, with silver stud work, diamond set push button, dial and movement signed 56mm.
