Footnotes
This watch is most likely to be by Johann Georg Bayer of Grosse Glogau, Germany listed as working in the earlier part of the 18th century.
Głogów remained part of the Austrian Crown of Bohemia until the First Silesian War. In March 1741 it was captured by the Prussian Army and became part of Prussia under King Frederick II. The city then became known by the Germanised name of Groß-Glogau.
