Footnotes
Constantaras Frères were the jewellers of his Majesty the Sultan, active in Constantinople until the early 1920's.
The Sultan was deposed and exiled, with his son, on a British warship to Malta and then after to Italy, where he eventually died in 1926. Turkey was declared a Republic on October 29th 1923.
The engraved dedication on the movement is dated 1922.
