John Cabrier. A fine and rare early 18th century quarter repeating pair case pocket watch made for the Eastern Market
Circa 1720
Fusee verge movement with unusual pierced and engraved silver and gilt metal balance cock, the signed cap with unusual locking mechanism, 3-arm balance, blued steel regulation, small shaped baluster pillars, gilt metal hammers striking on a later bell and activated via the stem, silver dial with Roman numerals and outer Arabic five minute divisions, steel hands, the centre with 'London' signed scroll, pierced and engraved inner case wound to the back, the decoratively pierced and engraved outer repoussé silver case with Eastern design influences and stamped IR inside and outside, dial and cap signed 53mm.
