Footnotes
A Crosthwaite & Sons is listed as working in Ireland between 1796-1803. There is also a John Crosthwaite listed as working in Dublin between 1760-1800 with a more unusual listing; he apparantly experimented with pendulums supported by steel knife edges on diamond plates and subsequently published their descriptions in 1788 and 1800.
