A William & Mary walnut and laburnum oyster veneered and banded chest

The rectangular moulded top inlaid with concentric circles above two short and three long graduated drawers on turned later feet, 95cm wide, 56cm deep, 84cm high (37in wide, 22in deep, 33in high).

Castle Lodge, Castle Square, Ludlow, Shropshire.
Castle Lodge was once the home of Catherine of Aragon, the first wife of Henry VIII, at the time she was married and left a widow by Henry's brother Arthur Prince of Wales. It has been privately owned throughout its history, at one point being a hotel and a school. It has been recently restored and open to the public since 1999.
