An Egyptian limestone stele fragment
New Kingdom, late 18th Dynasty, circa 1336-1295 B.C.
The top left corner of a round-topped limestone stele, depicting the upper half of the seated god, Amen-Re with Mut his wife behind, with two ears between the figures showing that this was a private stela set up to allow prayers to a more approachable form of the great state god, the inscription names Mut as 'the great, lady of heaven' and Amen-Re is named 'Ruler of the great ennead, lord eternal' 7in (18cm) high
