A Merovingian gilt bronze and garnet buckle
Frankish, circa 5th-6th Century A.D.
The solid oval loop hinged to the hook of the tongue and catch-plate, the catch-plate with three triangular garnet inlays, with three rivets at the edges, 1¼in (3.5cm) long
