A Clazomenian terracotta sarcophagus fragment
Circa 5th Century B.C.
Painted in black on a cream background, showing a central floral motif with interlocking palmettes and volutes, on the right a goat with curved horns and long beard, the white fur with large black patches, shown running with both front legs projecting forwards, a band of waves on the top side of the rim, 24½in (63cm long)
