A Roman marble strigillated sarcophagus
Circa 3rd Century A.D.
The front with a central panel depicting a togate man representing the deceased, with strigillated panels to either side, nude figures, probably erotes at either end wearing short cloaks, the one to the right holding a bird by its feet, and a cornucopia, with possibly a sheep at his feet, the figure on the left holding cornucopiae with a dog at his feet, with later holes cut for use as a fountain or basin, 62in (157.5cm) long
