A Meissen yellow-ground teabowl and saucer, circa 1735

The teabowl reserved with two shaped brown-edged panels painted with Kauffahrtei scenes, the inside with a similar puce scene of merchants by a quayside, the saucer with a scene depicting horsemen and other figures by a stone arch within two concentric iron-red circles, gilt-edged rims, the teabowl: 4.5cm high; the saucer: 13.1cm diam., crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, impressed Former's mark ** to the saucer and triangle of three dots and a symbol resembling the number 4 to the inside of the rim of the cup, both with a painters mark 1. in red, (very fine haircrack to the saucer, minor wear) (2)
