A Meissen silver-gilt-mounted coffee pot and cover, circa 1735

Painted on each side with an elaborate chinoiserie scene depicting groups of figures flanked by fences, flowers and pedestals, one group seated around a table, below a broad band of brown-edged gilt foliate scrollwork enclosing trellis panels, the handle and shell-moulded spout edged in gilding, the cover similarly decorated, the silver-gilt mount with a shell thumbpiece, 21.5cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue (possibly re-gilt)
