A Meissen two-handled sauceboat, circa 1740

Raised on four gilt-edged scroll feet, painted with continuous chinoiserie scenes below a moulded basketwork border, each end with a mask with a coloured feather headdress, the interior painted with scattered sprigs of indianische Blumen, 25.3cm long, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue
