A Meissen pouring cup and saucer, circa 1730

The saucer applied with two shell handles and the cup with a shell thumbpiece above a mask on the top of the handle, painted in Kakiemon style, the saucer with two wheat sheaves and scattered indianische Blumen on both sides, the cup with a stork flanked by flowers and bamboo and another in flight on the reverse, brown-edged rims, gilt bands to footrims, the cup: 5.8cm high; the saucer: 19.7cm across handles, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, (bottom tip of handle restored) (2)
