A very rare Meissen double-handled beaker and saucer, circa 1723

Painted with chinoiserie scenes, the saucer depicting two figures inspecting textiles offered by a third, with buildings and a ship in the background, the beaker depicting two figures seated at a table playing cards, the reverse with a seated figure drinking from a saucer seated at a table with a samovar, each within a gilt cartouche with scrollwork enclosing Böttger lustre and edged with iron-red foliate scrolls, gilt-edged rims, the beaker: 8cm high; the saucer: 13.2cm diam. incised / inside footrim of saucer (2)
