WORLD WAR ONE—ALBANIA.

VLASSIS, MILIO & NICHOLAS VLASSIS. Albanian Vocabulary. Compiled for the War Office. London: November 29, 1915. 1 manuscript and 1 typescript volume, 4to, 129; 80 [but 70] pp (manuscript recto and verso), cord-bound self wrappers, authors' wax seal to upper covers and authors' inkstamp to each sheet of manuscript, soiling and toning to covers, mild edgewear.

Unpublished English-Albanian dictionary and phrase book, in manuscript and typescript form, drafted for the British War Office during World War I. Sections include: Animals & Plants; Body & Ailments; Military, Nautical & Transport; Billets, Lodging & Stabling; Wounds or Sickness; At a River; Inquiries about Troops; and Strangers or Suspects. The cover of the typescript states that the authors are "Natives of Chimarra (Northern Epirus)."
