Thesaurus linguae Romanae & Britannicae. London: printed in the shop of Henry Bynneman [by Henry Denham], 1584.
Folio (325 x 208 mm). Double column, English definitions in black-letter. Woodcut device on title and woodcut tailpiece on colophon. Early 18th century paneled calf, rebacked to style. Title spotted, creased and with small marginal hole, lacking initial and final blanks (otherwise appears complete but not collated-sold as is), thin wormhole in gutter margin to about 50 leaves; some wear to binding edges and one corner repaired.
Provenance: John Orlebar (armorial bookplate to title verso and ownership inscription dated 1714).
Fourth, and final lifetime edition. STC 5689 (with genuine title page reading "Romanæ & Britannicæ" and bear device).
