HESYCHIUS OF ALEXANDRIA. Late 4th/early 5th c.

Lexikon [In Greek]. Dictionarium. Florence: Filippo Giunta, heirs, 1520.
Folio (310 x 193 mm). a-z8 &8. Double column, Greek type. Large woodcut printers' device on title and colophon. Incipit leaf printed in red and black including woodcut headpiece. Decorative initials. 18th century calf, gilt-ruled. Occasional minor soiling, about 10 leaves with narrow dampstain to top margin, tiny repaired hole to colophon, rebacked.
Provenance: Thomas Aylwin [1806-1871] (ownership inscription dated 1854, and shelf stamp to upper pastedown).
