Folio (300 x 200 mm). A-2D8 2E10. Double columns. Modern quarter pigskin over vellum, morocco spine labels. Some pale marginal dampstain, title and last leaf re-hinged, light wear to binding.

FIRST EDITION, a dictionary and effectively a concordance, of words and phrases used by Boccaccio, Dante, and other Italian poets. Alunno was a Ferrarese teacher of mathematics and calligraphy. The fifth Aldine device, with the dolphin and anchor surrounded by a border of grape tendrils, appears here for the first time. Adams A842; Renouard 127.
