NICOLAUS DE AUSMO. d.1453.
Supplementum summae pisanellae et canones poenitentiales fratris Astensis et Consilia Alexandri de Nevo contra judaeos foenerantes. Venice: Leonardus Wild, 1489 [but 1479].
4to (195 x 140 mm). 380 leaves: a-g12 h-v8/12 1-138/12 A12 B10 2a8 2b10. Double column, gothic type. Initials and paragraph marks supplied in alternating red and blue, first initial Q with decorative red background and long penwork border. Period blindstamped calf. Custom solander box. Lower fore-corner with faint waterstain throughout, slight loss to fore-corners of first 2 leaves, binding heavily worn, lacking clasps.
Provenance: a few early marginalia; Felice Lucignani (18th century ownership inscription on initial blank).
Nicolaus' work is a digest of canon law arranged alphabetically from "Abbas" to "Zelus." As the title indicates, it is his supplement to Bartholomaeus de Sancto Concordio's Summa. Alexander de Nevo's Consilia contra judaeos, a treatise against the Jewish moneylenders, joined editions of the Supplementum from 1476. The date in the colophon reads 1489.
