LANGTON, STEPHEN. c.1150-1228.
Latin manuscript on vellum, from Langton's Interpretation of Hebrew Names. [England, early 13th century.] 1 leaf, recto and verso, 3 columns of 60 lines, black ink, 291 x 186 mm, four 2 to 3 line red or blue initials "A," each entry beginning with a calligraphic "A" in black, creased with some soiling from use as a wrapper, later marginalia, one small hole.

Langton's dictionary of Biblical Hebrew, compiled between 1210 and 1220, was a familiar inclusion in 13th century Bibles. The present leaf contains entries for "Anae" through "Armenii."
