七福神図金工印籠 銘「一柳友善(書判)」 19世紀後期
Provenance: purchased at Hotel Drouot, Paris, 1971.
Wrangham collection, no.1083.
Published: E. A. Wrangham, The Index of Inro Artists, p.301, Tomoyoshi, Hitotsuyanagi, second from left.
There were several generations of sword fitting makers of the name Ichiryu Tomoyoshi, each living in Mito in Hitachi province. The present example is probably by the fifth and last of the line, who made objects other than sword mounts, including some for export (see Haynes, Index, no.H10194).
