Bearing a pale tan ground, simulating washed sand, with gently-lapping waves in silver lacquer, decorated with four half-clam shells gold lacquered and inlaid with flowers in mother-of-pearl and green-stained ivory, beneath gold lacquer clouds, embellished with kirikane, the interior of nashiji and yasurime with stylised cherry blossoms on the risers, signed on mother-of-pearl Teimin; with wood manju-netsuke inlaid in Shibayama-style with a spray of pomegranates, signed Shibayama. 9.8cm (3 7/8in).
