Koetsu style, early Edo Period, 17th century
Of slender cylindrical form, bearing a mottled-brown ground and lacquered with three stylised cranes in rubbed gold takamakie and inlaid pewter, on vertical bars of aogai, the top with a floral motif inlaid with aogai and the interior of red lacquer with black lacquer risers, unsigned. 10.8cm (4¼in).
