Kangra, circa 1810
Opaque watercolor and gold on paper; unaware of the presence of her beloved, Radha and her confidant are deep in discussion within an open terrace at the edge of a garden. Krishna is set behind the low garden wall resting on his golden staff and draped in a gilt-lined mauve cloak. Image: 10 1/8 x 6 1/8 in. (25.6 x 15.5 cm.); Folio: 12 1/4 x 9 1/8 in. (31.1 x 21.3 cm.)
