A prince entertained by courtiers
Hyderabad, Deccan, late 18th century
Opaque watercolor and gold on paper; the young prince is enjoying a dalliance on an open terrace, he faces to his left to receive a blossom from one, while the other courtier looks on. All are sumptuously attired and adorned with trappings of the court and the surrounding gardens and open receding field is ringed by distant hills and mountains.
