A bone mirror stand
Thailand or Burma 18th/19th century
The pierced rectangular panel with nine panels carved with mythological figures and avatars from the Ramayana, all dancing against scrolling floral forms. The crest and holding plate are carved and lobbed, and the whole is raised on plain stem issued from a stepped faceted base with panel incised with foliate designs. 22 in. (55.9 cm.) high
