A copper alloy seated Buddha
Thailand, Ayutthaya, 17th Century
Seated in bhadrasana the Buddha is attired in a simple sanghati draped over his left should and leaving his right shoulder bare, both hands resting on his knees. His ovoid face is defined with deep down-cast eyes and high arching brows,, narrow nose and small mouth. His hair is defined as sharp snail shell curls around a flaming ushnisha. 9 in. (22.8 cm.) high
