Orissa, 17th/18th century
Vishnu as Venogopala stands with his legs crossed in the pose of playing a flute with two diminutive animals at his feet. Flanked by his consorts Lakshmi and Saraswati holding their prescribed attributes, the trio is mounted on a beaded-edge platform and lotus pedestals. 5 1/2 in. (14 cm.) high
