A brass devotional plaque
Tamil Nadu, 17th/18th century
The panel is in the form of a cusped niche divided into five registers. At the top, Shiva Nataraja is flanked by Vishnu and Brahma. Below, Shiva is enthroned with two female attendants and a dancing Ganesha. The central register has a central disc attended by a two deer-like animals and a figure holding a staff. The lower two registers show scenes of artists making sculptures.
