A terracotta dead of a divinity,
Eastern India, Gupta period, 6th/7th century
With rounded face, downcast almond-shaped eyes beneath arching brows, full lips and narrow nose. His cylindrical jatamakuta is secured by an elaborate three leaf crown and centered by a cabochon jewel and secured by a beaded band while his hair falls in thick ribbons curling over his ears. 8 1/8 in. (20.7 cm.) high
