MORRIS (WILLIAM)

Chants for Socialists, first edition, 2 copies, one as published, the other with red printed wrappers added by Forman, and a 3-page note in his hand [Enquiry 2, p.204, "A chimaera, with a false wrapper"], 8vo, Socialist League Office, 1885 [wrapper: Twentieth Century Press, c.1895]

Footnotes

Forman's manuscript account makes it clear that he was responsible for the red wrapper; his published account (Books of William Morris, p.79) is rather different. See illustration on preceding page.
