Footnotes

Pariser had a vellum copy (lot 142, £180), since which the only auction record is a paper copy selling for £60 in 1982. S.C. Cockerell commented on the "fine writing vellum" used in another Wise publication, and compared it very unfavourably with that used at the Kelmscott Press (see The Athenaeum, January 22, 1898).
