Footnotes
With the outbreak of the second world war Andrews took a break from printmaking and emigrated to Canada. She restarted her linocuts in 1946 with a deeply rooted religious theme. Golgotha was the first of about 20 linocuts that Andrews made on this theme. Although she was not particularly a religious person she had always been captivated by drama in the life of Christ.
