An Annie Hall script
United Artists, 1977. Mimeographed manuscript, 121 pages, bound with brads and a red plastic cover inscribed "UNTITLED FILM SCRIPT." A complete film script, belonging to Justin Scoppa Jr., a member of the film's art department. Including a number of scnes that did not make it into the film, including a cameo from Federico Fellini (replaced with Marshall McLuhan in the final version), Alvy in college talking to a dean, Alvy with his cousin Doris, Alvy talking to Freud and Oedipus, Alvy's fantasy about the creation of the universe, a scene in hell with the devil and Richard Nixon, and a montage of the women Alvy dated after Annie. Together with a Woody Allen clipped signature and a vintage photograph of the director. Allen is famously secretive about his productions, and actors in his films today only receive the pages of the script that feature their character, rather than the whole film. Annie Hall won Academy Awards® for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress for Diane Keaton, and Best Original Screenplay.
