An Edith Head Studios design for "The Airport Collection"

Ink, pencil, watercolor, and oil pastel on illustration paper, signed by Head at lower left and inscribed, "The 'airport collection.'" To coincide with the release of the 1970 film Airport, starring Burt Lancaster and Dean Martin, Head designed a clothing line called "The Airport Look" for manufacturer Trevira. The collection was not a success, but Head's designs for the film are credited by many with inspiring real life airlines to update their uniforms to more contemporary designs.
